As the global push toward carbon neutrality accelerates, the rise of the new energy vehicle market is reshaping the manufacturing landscape. In response, the industry is embracing high-efficiency, digital, and energy-saving technologies to reduce carbon emissions at every stage of production.

The results of the 2nd Energy-Saving Label Evaluation for the machine tool industry, organized by the Taiwan Machine Tool & Accessory Builders’ Association (TMBA), were officially announced on December 2. SEYI Machinery (4533TT) excelled with its Solid Frame Crank Servo Press (SD1 series) and SNS2 series Solid Frame Crank Press (SNS Series), earning the highest honor: the Gold Label. This recognition not only highlights SEYI’s outstanding achievements in energy-saving technologies but also underscores its steadfast commitment to environmental sustainability.

As global climate change intensifies, SEYI Machinery (4533TT) is actively supporting the government’s net-zero carbon emission goals by participating in the Ministry of Economic Affairs’ “Large Enterprises Leading Small Enterprises in Low-Carbon Transformation” project. SEYI has not only completed its own greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory and verification but has also collaborated with ten key suppliers from sectors including welding, casting, steel plate materials, and parts processing. Together, they are driving a low-carbon transformation, gaining an in-depth understanding of the sources of their carbon emissions and mastering the relevant regulations and methods for GHG inventory and verification. This effort lays the foundation for both the company and its supply chain to achieve their carbon reduction goals, while also strengthening the sustainability and competitiveness of the machine tool industry.

As the impact of global climate change intensifies, achieving net-zero carbon emissions has become a common goal for governments and businesses worldwide in their pursuit of sustainable development. As the cornerstone of manufacturing, the machine tool industry faces unprecedented pressure to balance economic growth with environmental protection. Against this backdrop, the Taiwan Machine Tool & Accessory Builders’ Association (TMBA) has been driving the establishment of carbon footprint "Product Category Rules" (PCR) for six major categories—machining centers, lathes, drilling/boring/milling/tapping/threading machines, grinders, presses, and EDM/laser machines—since the fourth quarter of 2023. Through the association's committee mechanism, these rules are being developed in a fair, impartial, and transparent manner, creating a credible scope and rules for carbon footprint calculations. This provides the domestic machine tool and component industries with a standard for carbon footprint calculations.
